A bit about Gazza…
Originally from Bingley, West Yorkshire, Gazza has been resident on Lanzarote for over two decades. A broken heart and a chance gig at the then Rock Café in Centro Atlántico in Puerto del Carmen, sewed the seeds for over two decades of residence on this beautiful island. He says he “knew instantly he was going to stay” the moment he set foot on Lanzarote, falling in love with the island and the life it would ultimately provide for his family.
His musical influences are too many to list, ranging from soft pop to heavy rock. People are his inspiration, those who do good acts in society and he describes playing for Musicians Unite as “an absolute honour”.
Gazza played with Ernie Barrera and Marc Johnson (known as Marc Piano) in Concrete Jungle at The Big Easy on the Strip in Puerto del Carmen Monday-Friday until the pandemic hit. Although Concrete Jungle focus mainly on the 80’s era they have a huge and varied repertoire to offer. Marc Piano also played for Emerlan – stay tune as his playlist will , eventually!, be published on this blog – and they’re both looking forward to more gigs for Lanzarote Musicians Unite (keep your eyes peeled for this one too!).
